Security Certifiers

What Is a Security Certifier?

Security certifiers are a set of security experts that protect the chain by voting on all security-relevant governance proposals and being responsible for all security-related chain activities.

Purpose of the Role

Security certifiers address the tension that normally exists between decentralization and chain security in traditional chains. They are also key to avoiding malicious proposals and users. The council of security certifiers cannot make changes to the operational or financial aspects of the chain, but are the only users responsible for addressing any security-related proposals before they enter the stake voting stage.
